Olmesartan 40mg - Manufacturers & Suppliers - Third Party Contract Manufacturing - PCD Pharma Franchise
Olmesartan 40mg Tablets are formulated using a medication called Olmesartan. It's an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by preventing the body from producing a chemical that causes blood vessels to constrict. As a result, the blood vessels dilate. It decreases blood pressure while increasing blood and oxygen circulation to the heart. Olmesartan is a blood pressure medication that can be used alone or in combination with other medications to treat excessive blood pressure (hypertension). The heart and arteries may not operate correctly if high blood pressure persists for a long time. A stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure can occur as a result of this damage to the brain, heart, and kidney blood arteries. Blood pressure control can lower the risk of strokes and heart attacks.
Olmesartan 40mg Tablets should be taken according to the doctor's instructions for dosage and duration. The medicine should be taken by mouth once a day, with or without meals, by each individual patient. To receive the best benefit from this medicine, take it on a regular basis and don't miss any doses. Even if you feel OK, do not stop taking this medicine. The majority of persons with high blood pressure do not experience any symptoms.
This medicine is effective in the following conditions:-
Reduce hypertension
Myocardial infarction
Cardiovascular risk management
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily with or without food. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
If you are using the liquid form of this medication, shake the bottle well before each dose. Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.
If you also take certain drugs to lower your cholesterol (bile acid-binding resins such as cholestyramine, colesevelam, colestipol), take olmesartan at least 4 hours before any of these medications.
Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens (for example, your blood pressure readings increase).
You should not take olmesartan if you are allergic to it. If you have diabetes, do not use olmesartan together with any medication that contains aliskiren (a blood pressure medicine). You may also need to avoid taking olmesartan with aliskiren if you have kidney disease.
Inform the doctor if you have ever had:
A heart condition other than one being treated with olmesartan;
Kidney disease; or
If you are on a low salt diet.
Do not use it if you are pregnant. Stop using the medicine and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Olmesartan can cause injury or death to the unborn baby if you take the medicine during your second or third trimester.
If you plan to get pregnant, ask your doctor for a safer medicine to use before and during pregnancy. Having high blood pressure during pregnancy may cause complications in the mother and the baby. Also, you should not breastfeed while using olmesartan.
It is very important that your doctor check the progress of you or your child at regular visits to make sure this medicine is working properly. Blood tests may be needed to check for unwanted effects.
Using this medicine while you are pregnant can harm your unborn baby. Use an effective form of birth control to keep from getting pregnant. If you think you have become pregnant while using this medicine, tell your doctor right away.
Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur after the first dose of this medicine, especially if you have been taking a diuretic (water pill). Make sure you know how you react to this medicine before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are dizzy.
Check with your doctor right away if you or your child become sick while taking this medicine, especially with severe or continuing nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. These conditions may cause you to lose too much water and may lead to low blood pressure. You can also lose water by sweating, so drink plenty of water during exercise or in hot weather.
Severe, chronic diarrhea with weight loss may develop months to years after taking this medicine. Tell your doctor right away if you have these symptoms.
Ask your doctor before you use medicines, supplements, or salt substitutes that contain potassium.
Do not take other medicines unless they have been discussed with your doctor. This especially includes over-the-counter (nonprescription) medicines for appetite control, asthma, colds, cough, hay fever, or sinus problems, since they may tend to increase your blood pressure.
