APIXDOSE-5

APIXDOSE-5 Tablet is an oral anticoagulant medicine containing Apixaban 5 mg, used to prevent and treat blood clots. It is widely prescribed to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation (not caused by heart valve problems). The medicine helps prevent the formation of harmful clots in blood vessels, thereby lowering the chances of serious complications such as stroke, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and pulmonary embolism (PE).

APIXDOSE-5 offers reliable anticoagulation with predictable action and does not usually require routine blood monitoring

Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Apixaban 5 mg
• Excipients q.s.

How It Works

Apixaban is a direct Factor Xa inhibitor. The working mechanism of the tablets is based on the following process :

• Blocking Factor Xa, an essential enzyme involved in blood clot formation
• Preventing the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin
• Reducing the formation of fibrin clots

This mechanism helps maintain smooth blood flow and prevents abnormal clot formation without affecting existing clots significantly.

Indications for Use

APIXDOSE-5 is indicated for:

• Prevention of stroke and blood clots in atrial fibrillation
• Treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
• Treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE)
• Prevention of recurrent blood clots
• Post-surgical clot prevention (as prescribed)

Dosage

The tablet must be taken as prescribed by the doctor ,some of the recommended dosage of the tablet re : 

• The usual recommended dose is one tablet twice daily, or as directed by a physician
• Swallow the tablet whole with water
• Can be taken with or without food
• Do not stop the medicine abruptly without medical advice

Dosage may vary based on age, kidney function, and medical condition.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Easy bruising
• Minor bleeding (nose, gums)
• Anemia
• Nausea
• Fatigue

Serious bleeding is rare but requires immediate medical attention.
